We all loose socks but not pairs of socks just one! Have you ever really thought about it? We all seem to gripe that our socks disappear but where do they really go? I have never had a house elf so I haven't given any socks to them to set them free. I guess there could be some gnomes or little people taking them.I mean are they ready for a vacation? Can they just not handle smelly teenage feet anymore?Did one of the two just up and walk out of the house heading south for the winter? Are the Washing machine and Dryer having a fight and the sock couples are having to choose sides? Are they getting a divorce? Do I need to use some other kind of dryer sheet? What gives...

My theroy is that my dryer heats them until they are the consistancy of lint, which is why Im never able to find them.
Im smarter now. I buy the same socks. I must have about 40 pairs of the same white no show socks. I never even notice if im missing one. because if another gets lost. well lookie, the "extra" now has a match!!!
Designs by Jessie has the right idea to buy the same socks! But that's easier said than done. I found a sort of sock I liked several years ago and bought multiple pairs, but I've never seen the same socks since. The same goes with underwear in general, such simple garments why don't they keep making the same ones?
What I can't figure out is how one of my workout socks changed so much that it physically doesn't match any of the others. Baffling... this whole sock issue is baffling.

I so agree. Every load I do, there's a missing sock, or several missing socks. It's like the washer or dryer sucks them into some unknown crevice, never to be seen again.:) Happy SITS Saturday Sharefest!
LMBO! I just wrote a blog post about this too last week. I called my post "Solo Socks" and showed a picture of our sock tub that is full of lonely socks. Even if you buy all the same socks you will still loose socks. I had a friend tell me to safety pin the socks together but who has time for that? LOL
I like your gnome idea! I have a grimlin that also takes my cell phone, camera and bank credit card so I can never find those either! LOL
It is one of life's great mysteries... one of my mantras is "never try to figure out why the laundry multiples but the socks divide"

Our socks have been turning up in odd places. The latest was in the kitchen towel drawer. Perhaps they're vacationing and decide never to return home!
