Running again

When I was in college I ran 3-5 miles almost everyday. I loved running. I am not really sure what it was that I loved so much. Now I am desperately trying to remember, because I am running once again. I have set a goal to run in the Cooper River Bridge Run on April 4th. My sister is running it and I want to run it with her.

My neighbor is my coach and I don't think I could do it without her. How in the heck did I get myself up at 5:30 am when I was in college in Idaho where it is below zero most of the time and go run (admitedly I ran in the field house where it was warm, but still I had to get to the field house in the cold).

I should confess it is more of a walk/run righ now, but I think there was more running than walking this week(please don't tell me if that is not true just let me believe it!).

Am I crazy to take up running again at 42? Will I fall in love with it again? I really kind of hope that I do. Yep I'm crazy but then those of you who know me already knew that!

Good luck - it is so hard to start in a routine, but I think it feels great when you're in a work out groove.

The bridge picture is beautiful.

Dropping by from SITS. One of my other bloggy friends is around your age and recently took up running this past summer. You're never too "old" to learn or re-learn a new trick.

You'll learn to love it again... and if you are having a hard time look at your cute bum in the mirror getting cuter because you are running... that should make you happy. {That's what makes me happy}

{peeking in from SITS}

okay so you lost me at the seventh word....RUN. heehee. So maybe you didn't. However at that word I was already exhausted! Then you added in the number of miles. I mean 3-5 is tremendous, in my house. But you deserve nothing but the praise of awesomeness for that! Some day soon, I will be lucky to have a schedule that allows me to workout whenever I want. And I can't wait!

until then though, I will play catch up on my sleep.

Stopping by to say hello to a fellow welcomista!

Dropping by to say Hi to a fellow Welcomista!

I'm not a runner (by far!) but I wish you luck. And if the bridge looks anything like it does on that beautiful flyer, it would be worth seeing as the sun comes up.

Well, if you ever figure out what you like about running let me know, because I have always hated it.(even though I ran track in highschool and did a marathon once 20+ years ago) HATED IT! But I desperately need to be doing SOMETHING!

stopping in from SITS to say hi! i used to love to run ... ran up to seven and a half miles a day all through my early forties. then i quit to spare my joints. i think if you use good shoes and run on a track... you can surely do it!

No, your not crazy......but personally I always hated running and prefer walking. I think my 41 year old knees appreciate my choice. :)

Good luck!
