Marshmallows

This year for Christmas I decided to give homemade marshmallows and coco to all of Chase's teachers. I ended up making two batches for nine teachers ( 7 are men). I used Alton Brown's recipe which I have used before and love. We packaged the marshmallows in clear bags with white ribbon, and put the coco, marshmallows and card in a gift bag. I wish we could have done more but with that many teachers it just isn't going to happen. Here are a few photos of the marshmallows in process.

mixing for 12-15 minutes
resting in the pan

It is a messy process but they are so worth it!!

Have you ever made marshmallows? Did you mix in any flavors? I was going to make peppermint ones with crushed peppermints on top but I didn't get to it this year.

Oh wow! I never even thought of making marshmallows before! As a teacher I can tell you that that kind of gift is greatly appreciated! Stopping from SITS, Happy Saturday Sharefest!

ooooh those look great. I've never made them, they look pretty easy though. I was going to try the Barefoot Contessa's recipe but now you've inspired me to give Alton's a whirl.

Happy SITS Saturday Sharefest! I'll be back here for sure soon!

You made marshmallows? Awesome. Clearly I've never made them, but I do think that the peppermint ones sound like an excellent idea. If you wanted to ship me some after you made them for a test taste before you gift them I'd be willing to help you out that way. I'm a giver like that.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. :)
